This type of netsuke is called Katabori netsuke (three-dimensional sculpture), uses coral for the eyes and colors the Japanese traditional ink to finish it.
解説＝うまいことが重なり、好都合であることを「鴨が葱背負ってくる」と言われている。今回は持ち主様に良い話がいくつも重なるようにと想いを込め、夫婦仲の良い鴨をモチーフに家庭円満の意味もあるハマグリも乗せた。腹部の所を流れる水流は無限形になっており、良い流れにのり、滞りなく永くその家が続くようにと祈りを込めた。
It is said that "duck carries green onions" ,means good things happened one after another in Japanese. In this time, a clam which have the meaning of a healthy family, was also added with the motif of a duck that is close to the couple. I hope that many good stories would happen to the owner.The shape of the water flowing through the belly of the duck is infinite, and I prayed that the family would continue for a long time without any delay.
